Furniture City to come up at Ramayapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that a Furniture City will come up at Ramayapatnam.
He took to X to say "I am delighted to announce the development of a Furniture City at Ramayapatnam, which will position Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for furniture and allied industries. With its strategic coastal location and skilled workforce, the project will drive investment and employment, while enhancing road and rail connectivity for the region."
He said moving forward to attract investments to the city, it was a pleasure to meet Tom Olander, CEO and Founder of Sweden-based JOOL Group, and Sandeep Jakkampudi, CEO, JOWO India, to explore opportunities in sustainable forestry and woodworking practices. The Andhra Pradesh Government earlier in the day signed an MoU with Hero Future Energies for an investment of Rs15,000 crore to generate 4 GW of renewable energy across Anantapur, Kurnool, and Kadapa. The company will manufacture wooden pallets and boxes for agricultural storage in Ramayapatnam, with future plans to set up a prefabricated housing unit in the region.
